Crime prevention, clear consent and digital infrastructure to protect citizens

“This is not just about an app. It is about building the digital infrastructure that makes prevention, trust and protection workable.”

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play across Europe.

2YES was born as a mobile app designed to make it easier to express consent clearly, voluntarily and consciously before a sexual relationship begins. From that base, the project grows into a broader vision: building the European infrastructure of digital trust for sensitive interactions — Safe Digital Identity (SDI).

The core value of the project is not recording an interaction, but helping to reduce ambiguity, making it easier to say no, and helping to avoid suffering, conflict or a potential crime before it happens. The app does not replace ongoing consent and offers no automatic legal protection.

  • It is not a contract.
  • It is not automatic proof.
  • It does not replace ongoing communication.
  • It is a tool for clarity.

A prior record does not remove responsibility if violence, intimidation, incapacity or revocation follow.

The problem

Personal relationships increasingly begin in digital environments, and there the safety of citizens is no longer a detail: it is a reputational vector for platforms and a growing social problem.

Three things fail at once today. There are no structured tools for preventive communication between citizens. Age verification is insufficient or easy to circumvent. And the solutions that exist force a choice between privacy and control, because they collect and store sensitive personal data.

The result is a system that acts after the harm. Formalising a prior signal does not replace real consent, but it can help to detect a lack of willingness, reduce ambiguity and avoid harm before it happens.

21,659

crimes against sexual freedom in Spain in 2025 — 59 a day, 2.3% more than the year before.

57.9%

of women using dating apps felt pressured to have sex.

Why now

The window opens when three changes converge.

  • Social change.

Digital platforms are central spaces for socialising, and their reputation already depends on the safety of citizens.

  • Legal change.

Since Spain’s Organic Law 10/2022, consent has been at the centre of crimes against sexual freedom, and prevention is gaining weight over after-the-fact reaction.

  • Regulatory change.

The DSA, the GDPR, eIDAS 2.0, the EU AI Act and Spain’s new rules on artificial intelligence and digital platforms raise the bar and push towards interoperable, privacy-first infrastructure.

2YES does not sell regulatory compliance: it is the technical infrastructure that regulation needs.

Protecting citizens in the digital environment cannot depend on regulation alone. The ecosystem needs technological infrastructure that makes that protection effective while guaranteeing both security and privacy.

How it works

Both people have the app and, entirely voluntarily, can start a process in which:

  1. Voluntary mutual identification

The two people identify each other inside the app, for example by scanning a code or accepting a request.

  2. Clear information

A short reminder of what consent is: that it is free, that it can be withdrawn at any time and that it obliges no one to anything.

  3. Explicit expression

Each person consciously expresses their agreement, with its scope described in clear, understandable language.

  4. Encrypted record

The app records that initial consent privately and encrypted, with custody and time sealing.

  5. Revocation at any time

    Either person can withdraw it.

Recorded consent is not valid “forever” and does not replace what happens afterwards: the relationship must remain consensual the whole time. The app does not decide, does not judge and does not automatically protect anyone. Its role is to enable clear communication and help both people be aware of what they are accepting at that moment.

The product works in two layers:

  • B2C layer — 2YES / Con·Sent app

A record of explicit, voluntary and revocable consent, with accounts verified by phone number and encrypted time sealing.

  • B2B layer — SDI

API/SDK infrastructure for third-party platforms, built on W3C verifiable credentials, DIDs, zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) and eIDAS 2.0; positioned as a service and certification layer that complements — not competes with — Europe’s public infrastructure (e.g. the EUDI Wallet).

What 2YES brings

For people

  • Reduces ambiguity.
  • Makes an awkward conversation easier.
  • Increases emotional safety.
  • Promotes respect.

For society

  • Strengthens the culture of consent.
  • Introduces preventive education.
  • Reduces potential conflict.

Validation

A survey conducted by Netquest in February 2026 on a sample of 1,202 people, in line with the UNE-ISO 20252:2019 standard on quality in market research, shows that:

58.9%

reasonable willingness (a clear yes, or depending on the circumstances)

74.5%

do not reject the proposal

25.5%

rejection, which confirms the sensitivity of the subject, not its unfeasibility

The relevant signal is not only the absolute figure, but that part of the market accepts introducing a prior layer of communication before a sexual relationship.

In development

Safe Digital Identity

Today the 2YES beta verifies each person’s phone number. Safe Digital Identity is the identity layer we are building on top of that base: this section describes its design, not a feature that is already available.

Beneath consent, a layer of identity.

With it, any platform will be able to verify attributes of its users without accessing their personal data.

  1. Verification

Official identity document and a live face check of the holder.

  2. Issuance

A cryptographically signed verifiable credential is issued. If the citizen already holds a credential issued by a qualified third party, it is accepted as the source of verification instead of repeating it.

  3. Custody

The credential lives in the citizen’s wallet, under their own control.

  4. Proof

The platform requests validation through a zero-knowledge proof.

  5. Result

The platform receives only a yes or a no, without accessing any personal data.

Safe Digital Identity is an open standard: any platform can integrate it. It relies on W3C verifiable credentials, decentralised identifiers (DID) and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP), and is positioned as a service and certification layer that complements — not competes with — Europe’s public digital identity infrastructure.

In development

Protection of minors

Protected digital identity is not only technology: it is also supervision and education. Each mechanism prevents a real risk.

Protection of minors
MechanismWhat it doesRisk it prevents
Information controlPrivate profile, controlled contacts and restricted messagesGrooming
Identity verificationPrevents the minor from sharing age, address or exploitable imagesSextortion
Privacy and securityReduces the risk of being singled out as a victimNon-consensual sharing of images
Digital educationTeaches how to recognise suspicious behaviour and how to block and reportOnline sexual harassment
Traceability and reportingRecords interactions and speeds up reportsFake adult profiles

The infrastructure will also make it possible to detect fake profiles and limit adults’ access to spaces for minors.

Institutional approach

The European framework — GDPR, DSA, eIDAS 2.0 — provides a solid regulatory base, but a structural gap remains: the absence of a technological infrastructure that makes it possible to prevent risks without compromising privacy.

2YES proposes a collaboration between public administrations, universities, digital platforms and technology providers, in three phases: pilots in controlled environments, definition of standards and certification, and scaling at regional, national and European level.

The expected impact: protection of minors, prevention of conflict and violence, greater trust in the digital ecosystem and European technological sovereignty.

Design principles

  • Privacy by design
  • Data minimisation
  • Citizens’ control over their information
  • Interoperability
  • Technological neutrality
  • API-first, white-label architecture

Privacy and security

  • Content is encrypted on your phone. 2YES keeps records it cannot read.
  • Your identity and your records live in separate stores.
  • Every record carries a hash, two signatures and a time stamp with public proof.
  • No personal data in technical logs or analytics. Servers in the European Union.

About us

2YES · Con·Sent is an app that lets two people express their consent clearly, voluntarily and consciously before a sexual relationship, with a private, encrypted and time-sealed record, and revocation at any time. On that base we are developing Safe Digital Identity (SDI), an infrastructure for verifying identity and legal age based on W3C verifiable credentials, decentralised identifiers and zero-knowledge proofs, designed to integrate with the European Digital Identity Wallet (eIDAS 2.0) once it is available.

It is a project of Solid Consent, S.L., based in Barcelona.
